Arevalo, Joenabie
Biography
Ms. Joenabie E. Arevalo has served as Head Librarian and Supervisor of the Rizal Library Ortigas at the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH) since December 2007. She was later appointed Deputy University Librarian for Reader Services at the Ateneo de Manila University and is set to assume the role of University Librarian in January 2026.
In addition to her leadership roles at the Rizal Library, Ms. Arevalo is a faculty member at the University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies, where she teaches medical and health librarianship electives. She was part of the inaugural cohort of the Emerging Library Leaders' Summer School for Asia-Pacific (ELLSSA) at Singapore Management University Libraries, where she collaborated with library leaders across Southeast Asia.
She also plays an active role in professional organizations, serving as Adviser to the Medical and Health Librarians Association of the Philippines and as a member of the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. and the Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines. Her work reflects a strong commitment to advancing the profession through leadership, teaching, and research.
