Biography

Dr. Buenrostro-Cabbab joined the UPSLIS in 2006 and teaches LIS and archival studies courses both in the undergraduate and graduate levels. She is involved in projects related to education and training of librarians, archivists and records managers, establishment and management of records centers and archives, and preservation of historical records. Her research interests include the development of archival theory and practice, the politics of libraries and archives and their role in the formation of collective memory, the use, contextualization, and preservation of archives such as photographic records and Filipiniana historical sources, and qualitative research methods in LIS. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Journal of Librarianship and Information Studies (formerly Journal of Philippine Librarianship), the first and longest-running academic journal in LIS in the Philippines.
