On 23 July 2026, the UP School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS) was invited by the UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations (UP SOLAIR) for a knowledge-sharing activity focused on quality assurance initiatives and external quality assurance experiences.
UP SLIS was represented by Quality Assurance Officer Asst. Prof. Yhna Therese Santos and QA staff Mr. Ferl Arceo. UP SOLAIR was represented by Quality Assurance Officer Atty. Alvin Liao Alburo, LL.M., together with Arman Mangilinan, University Extension Speciast, Bianca Co, Junior Research Analyst and SAR Writer, and Ms. Rowena Melican, SOLAIR Admininistrative Officer.
During the session, UP SLIS shared insights, practical pointers, and lessons from its quality assurance activities and experience in pursuing external quality assurance. The discussion covered approaches to strengthening internal QA processes, preparing for external review, and sustaining a culture of quality within an academic unit. The SOLAIR QA Team also shared its current initiatives relevant to its own QA plans and priorities.
