SLIS shares experiences at INSPIRE 3: Advancing Quality

The UP School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS) was one of two academic units invited to share their experiences in the Institutional Strategic Program for Innovation, Research, and Education (INSPIRE) at its third installment, Advancing Quality, held on 21 September 2026.

Organized by the UP Diliman Quality Assurance Office (UPD QAO), INSPIRE is a strategic planning workshop series attended by heads of academic units and administrative offices across all three parts. It guides participants in developing and refining their Strategic Governance System (SGS) Scorecards and Three-Year Roadmaps to improve academic and administrative operations.

SLIS Dean Asst. Prof. Rhea Apolinario, PhD, and SLIS QA Officer Asst. Prof. Yhna Therese Santos walked the audience through the School’s experiences, from Aligning Purpose in May and Strengthening Systems in July to Advancing Quality in September. They also discussed the School’s experiences in implementing quality assurance at the unit level.

Also attending INSPIRE 3 were SLIS College Secretary Asst. Prof. Mark Santos, Administrative Officer Ms. Shelly S. Bayang, and QA Staff Member Mr. Ferl Arceo.
