Congratulations to our faculty members who were awarded the 2025 UP Diliman Extension Grant of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development (OVCRD)!
Asst. Prof. Dridge Paul A. Reyes will be leading the Capacity Building for LIS Educators — a three-day national training program happening in October 2025.
This initiative aims to strengthen the teaching and professional capabilities of LIS instructors, librarians, archivists, and information professionals across the Philippines. Facilitated by SLIS faculty, the program will focus on advancing pedagogy, updating curricula, and supporting the evolving needs of the LIS field.
Asst. Prof. Dan Anthony D. Dorado, assisted by Asst. Prof. Jonathan Isip, will be. conducting a workshop titled From Stacks to Sensors: IoT-Driven Innovations in Library and Archives in January 2026.
This project aims to provide access to affordable and customized ICT solutions to libraries, archives, and museums with limited access to emerging technologies, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Participants will learn to design and test Internet of Things(IoT)-enabled solutions that collect, process, and analyze environmental and usage data for collection management and service improvement.
These projects evidence SLIS' commitment to social and public service in the fields of ARM and LIS through training and technical assistance.
