Seminar-Workshop on Records Management in the Era of Data Privacy and Freedom of Information

The University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS) in partnership with Library-Bayanihan Inc. announces the offering of the Seminar-Workshop on Records Management in the Era of Data Privacy and Freedom of Information to be held on the 20th and the 21st of April 2023 at the University of the Philippines School of Labor and Industrial Relations (UP SOLAIR). This 2 day face-to-face event will have its sessions from 8:00am to 5:00pm on both days.


This event aims to provide the participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of efficient and effective records management in any organization, including libraries, in the implementation of the provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) along with the provisions of the Executive Order no. 2 s2015 on Freedom of Information. This will ensure the proper handling of all records which contain the data or information that is required to be protected by the said Act, at the same time ensuring that these records are available when requested for access.


Topics to be covered include: Overview of RA 10173, the Implications of RA 10173 to Records Management, Freedom of Information: Access to Records and its Limits, and IRR and Draft Policies Relating to RA 10173.


The registration fee is Php 3,000.00, lunch and snacks included.
