The University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS) is pleased to announce that pre-registration is now open for the Capacity Building Seminar-Workshop for LIS Educators 2025, to be held on 28–30 October 2025 in a hybrid format: onsite at Bonifacio Hall, UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SOLAIR), UP Diliman, Quezon City, and online via Zoom.
This national initiative aims to strengthen the capabilities of Library and Information Science (LIS) faculty and trainers through sessions on LIS pedagogy, curriculum development, artificial intelligence, and scholarly publishing. The program will be facilitated by selected UP SLIS faculty members and is supported by a grant from the Office of Extension Coordination of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development, UP Diliman.
Participation is free of charge for both onsite and online attendees. Onsite participants will also be provided with 3 days/2 nights of free accommodation. Due to limited slots, only one participant per LIS school will be accommodated, with the first 25 pre-registrants for each mode prioritized.
