The UP School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS) is pleased to announce the release of Vol. 42, Issue 1 of the Philippine Journal of Librarianship and Information Studies (PhJLIS, formerly Journal of Philippine Librarianship or JPL). This issue contains articles on photography, archives, and women, capacity building program for library paraprofessionals in the Philippines, the history of the National Archives of the Philippines; a viewpoint article on the importance of theory for information professionals; book reviews of resources on digital ethnography in the library, and makerspaces; and an editorial piece on libraries and digital citizenship. All these articles can be downloaded for free.


The PhJLIS Editorial Board is led by Prof. Iyra Buenrostro-Cabbab (Editor-in-Chief), Prof. Johann Frederick Cabbab (Assoc. Editor, Lay-out & Issue Editor), and Prof. Mark Anthony Santos (Assoc. Editor). We would like to thank Prof. Santos for his outstanding contribution to the PhJLIS and LIS scholarship in the Philippines. We warmly welcome Prof. Elijah Dar Juan as the new Associate Editor of PhJLIS beginning next issue.
