UPSLIS Associate Professor Iyra Buenrostro-Cabbab, PhD has been awarded the UP Diliman Centennial Professorial Chair for the second consecutive year in recognition for her exemplary teaching, research productivity, and public service!
Dr. Buenrostro-Cabbab's recent research has focused on archives, memories, and photographs as well as on making the archives a democratic space. This past academic year, her student advisees bagged the MLIS best thesis award as well as the best special project award in UPSLIS. She has served as trainer in several Research Bootcamps offered by UPSLIS that developed the research agenda and proposals of LIS students, teachers, and practitioners from different parts of the Philippines. She has also facilitated the NCLIS Teacher Training on the Preservation of Information Sources. Dr. Buenrostro-Cabbab is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Philippine Journal of Librarianship and Information Studies and the Graduate Program Coordinator of UPSLIS.
