The University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS), in cooperation with the UP Library Science Alumni Association (UPLSAA) and the Publics, Archives, and Data (PANDA) Lab, warmly invites you to the 46th Gabriel A. Bernardo Memorial Lecture, commemorating 112 Years of Library and Information Science Education in the Philippines.


This year’s lecture will feature Assoc. Prof. Peter Sy, Vice President for Digital Transformation of the University of the Philippines, who will deliver a keynote titled:


“Epistemic Sovereignty: Language, Sovereignty, and the Future of Philippine Knowledge Institutions.”


As knowledge institutions navigate the challenges of digital transformation, language, and information governance, this lecture will explore how Philippine libraries and academic institutions can shape the future of knowledge in an increasingly technological and globalized landscape.
