22nd Summer Institute on Information Science

The University of the Philippines School of Library and Information Studies (UP SLIS), Diliman, Quezon City announces the offering of its 22nd Summer Institute on Information Science with a Seminar-Workshop on Records Management in the Era of Data Privacy and Freedom of Information on the 25th to 28th May 2022 to be conducted online via Zoom. The sessions will be from 1:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon.

This years summer institute aims to provide the participants with a deeper understanding of the importance of efficient and effective records management in any organization, including libraries, in the implementation of the provisions of the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) along with the provisions of the Executive Order no. 2 s2015 on Freedom of Information. This will ensure the proper handling of all records which contain the data or information that is required to be protected by the said Act, at the same time ensuring that these records are available when requested for access.

The registration fee is Php 1,500.00 which includes the mailing of certificates to the participants.
