Congratulations to our alumni who passed the 2024 Librarian Licensure Examination!
All six examinees from UP SLIS passed this years exam held last September 10-11, 2024. Two of our graduates also garnered a spot in the Top 10, with Alexis Obiena achieving Rank 2 with a rating of 89.60% and Mark Lester Estepa placing Rank 10 with a rating of 87.40%.
This year is notable for being the first time that the licensure examination was computer-based. The Professional Regulation Commission reported a 48.76% passing rate (376 passers out of 771) who took the Computer Based Licensure Exam (CBLE) for Librarians. Mandated by Republic Act No. 9246, librarianship is a regulated profession in the country, with the licensure examination as a requirement for registration.
