Prof Kathleen Lourdes Obille on the other hand presented her poster on "Challenges and Prospects to Philippine LIS Education" while Prof. Sonia Pascua and Kevin Enriquez presented their poster on "Christian Librarianship in LIS Profession"

SLIS Prevails in 2017 Librarian Licensure Exam
UP Diliman emerged as the top-performing school, with a 100% passing rate, in the Librarian Licensure Examination held last September 19-20, 2017. Twenty-seven examinees who graduated in the School of Library and Information Studies all passed the said examination.

Class of 2017: Batch iRidescent Recognition Program
The School of Library and Information Studies held its Recognition Rites for AY 2016-2017 last 23 June 2017, 03:00 PM, at the Auditorium of the new Institute of Biology, National Science Complex, UP Diliman, Quezon City. The recognition speaker was Atty. Vyva Victoria M. Aguirre, former UPSLIS Dean.

Seminar on Information Literacy
The UP SLIS held a two day seminar on Information Literacy last March 1- 2, 2017 at SLIS Rooms 3-4. The seminar was conducted by Prof. Diljit Singh, a renowned LIS Faculty in Asia and is currently a visiting professor for UP SLIS. He is a retired faculty member from the University of Malaya with current affiliation as Adjunct Faculty of University of Colombo in Sri Lanka.
Seminar on Qualitative Research Methods for LIS Teachers
The UP SLIS held one day seminar on Qualitative Research Methods for LIS Teachers last February 28, 2017 at SLIS Rooms 3-4. The seminar provided in-depth knowledge for LIS Faculty on qualitative methods both for their respective research endeavors and also to enhance their teaching of Research Methods. The seminar was conducted by Prof. Diljit Singh, a renowned LIS Faculty in Asia and is currently a visiting professor for UP SLIS.
