Journal of Philippine Librarianship (JPL) 2012 Call for Papers

The Journal of Philippine Librarianship (JPL) is an annual peer reviewed publication of the UP School of Library and Information Studies that covers all aspects of library, archival and information studies.
The proposed theme for the JPL 2012 is Trends in Philippine Librarianship. This year’s theme will enable us to recognize the various developments and best practices in the various functional areas in libraries and information centers (LICs).

The JPL committee invites submission of papers involving the following topics:

Cataloging
RDA readiness of Philippine libraries
Perceptions of Librarians on RDA
Acquisitions
Best Practices in the Acquisition of Online Databases
Libraries and Philippine Procurement Laws
Reference
Digital Reference Services
Mobile Reference
Management
Knowledge Management as Applied in LICs
Project Management as applied in LICs
Corporate Social Responsibility in LICs

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
Authors are expected to adhere to the following requirements:

1.   Each author should submit a structured abstract of 250-350 words on or before 30 April 2012 by email. Kindly email abstracts to the JPL issue editor at rrmubana@gmail.com. An acknowledgement letter will be sent upon receipt of abstract.
2.   All authors who submitted abstracts must also email the following information about them:
a.   Name
b.   Address and Contact details (home landline no., office landline no., mobile no., email address)
c.   Affiliation (current work)
d.   Educational Attainment
e.   Achievements on Library and information science and services and other related fields
3.   Authors whose abstracts are accepted will be notified by 15 May 2012.
4.   Full paper submission is by 15 July 2012 to allow more time for peer review.    All papers must be written in English.
5.   All papers are expected to be original contributions and not previously published elsewhere in a refereed journal like JPL.
6.   Paper format :
a.   Use Times New Roman Font, size 12.
b.   A full paper is no more than 4000 words.
c.   Others requirements will be informed later.

Note : Acceptance of papers in JPL has no monetary rewards.

Application to the MLIS program starts on January 16, 2012 and ends on April 16, 2012. Interview and examination of accepted applicants will be on May 3, 2012.
Application for shifting to BLIS for first sem starts on January 16, 2012 and ends on April 16, 2012. Interview of accepted applicants will be on May 2, 2012.
All BLIS & MLIS students who filed their application for graduation this 2nd semester, AY 2011-2012 must consult with the Office of the College Secretary regarding your academic deficiencies ASAP.
Last day for graduating students to clear their deficiencies: March 16, 2012 (Friday)
